Let me paint you a picture...

I’ve dabbled with various art forms over the years, but my artistic journey really accelerated in the wake of 2020 when three major life events occurred: I became a mom, I put my professional life–my psychotherapy practice–on hold so I could be a stay-at-home parent, and the Covid pandemic hit. My new role as a mom, the loss of my longtime vocation, and the uncertainty and isolation of the pandemic were a lot to navigate all at once. Creating art helped me to cope with these simultaneous stressors.

I believe that art is a therapeutic tool–-both when you’re experiencing the art of someone else’s creation and when you’re making art yourself. To that end, my shop offers both of these benefits: there is visual art for you to enjoy, and there are DIY patterns for you to create art with your own hands.

In my work, I typically use a combination of archival-quality acrylic paint and cotton or linen fibers to create mixed media pieces. Sometimes I gravitate to solo painting or embroidery. Adding thread and yarn to my paintings gives them a deeper dimension and a more complex texture to experience. Most of my art is inspired by my garden and my vast collection of houseplants.  All of my artwork is of my own original creation.
